The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on Tuesday, barred 14 Money Deposit Banks from dealing in the Small and Medium Entreprises (SME) wholesale Forex window. The barred banks are First Bank, Keystone Bank, Main street Bank, Ecobank, Stanbic IBTC, Citi Bank, Enterprise Bank and WEMA bank. BoI Records N17bn Operating Profit

The Bank of Industry (BoI) recorded operating profit before tax of N17 billion in 2016, a 44 per cent increase over the N11.9 billion recorded in 2015. A statement by the bank in Lagos on Monday said its loans and advances also rose by 10 per cent to N171 billion in 2016 from N156 billion in 2015. Crude Oil Production Now Two Million bpd, Says Baru

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. Maikanti Baru, on Tuesday stated that oil production in the country had risen from 1.2 million barrels per day to two million barrels per day. AMCON Injects N1.5bn In Arik Air To Stabilise Operations

The Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) has injected N1.5 billion in Arik Airline Ltd to safeguard its operations since its takeover.
